What is the St. Paul Legacy Society?

The St. Paul Legacy Society recognizes individuals and families who have included St. Paul Catholic Student Center in their estate plans.

These gifts are often made through a simple bequest in a will or trust and strengthen the long-term sustainability of our ministry, allowing us to plan confidently for the future.

Legacy gifts may support:

  • Catholic mental health counseling for students
  • Retreats and discipleship programs
  • Liturgical formation and vibrant campus worship
  • Leadership development for student missionaries and peer leaders
  • Facilities and capital improvements
  • Endowment support

Donors may choose to designate their gift to a particular area of passion or allow it to support the ministry's greatest needs at the time it is received. We welcome conversations with anyone who wishes to reflect on how their legacy might best serve future generations of students at St. Paul.

FAQs

  1. Why should I share my plans?
    • While many legacy gifts are realized years in the future, when you complete and submit the Statement of Intent form, you allow our team to:
      • Understand your hopes and intentions for your gift
      • Properly document and steward your future generosity
      • Plan responsibly for long-term growth and sustainability
      • Honor your life and legacy in a meaningful way
    • Knowing about future gifts also allows St. Paul to plan strategically for major initiatives, including facility improvements, endowment growth, and future capital campaigns.
    • Most importantly, it allows us to thank you during your lifetime.

  2. Why is the form on the Diocesan website?
    • St. Paul operates in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. For this reason, formal documentation of planned gifts is processed through the Diocese. Submitting the Statement of Intent form allows St. Paul to properly record and honor your gift according to your wishes and helps the Diocesan staff prepare to receive your gift in the future.

  3. If I submit the Statement of Intent Form, is it legally binding?
    • Notification of your gift is not legally binding and does not restrict your ability to revise your plans. It simply allows us to thoughtfully prepare and steward your gift with integrity.

Thank you for supporting St. Paul!
